Is Physical Intelligence a public company?
No. Physical Intelligence is privately held. The Robot Report says it has raised $1.1 billion from private investors, including CapitalG, Lux Capital and Thrive Capital.
What Physical Intelligence does
Physical Intelligence develops robot foundation models: AI models meant to control different kinds of robots across many tasks. The company says it is developing "a model that will control any robot to do any task."
It released the code and weights for its first model, π0, in February 2025. It says that in its own experiments, between 1 and 20 hours of data was enough to fine-tune π0 to a variety of tasks.
Physical Intelligence works with companies that deploy robots. In a February 2026 post, partner Ultra, which builds robots for warehouse work, said π0.6 packaged real customer orders for a full shift at 96.4% autonomy. Weave, which builds laundry-folding robots, reported 50% fewer interventions after adding its own data to pre-training.
On factory use, The Robot Report says Physical Intelligence partner AgiBot deployed a Real-World Reinforcement Learning system in a manufacturing pilot with Longcheer Technology. The company's own demonstrations named in the press are tasks such as folding laundry and assembling boxes.

π0.5 and π0.6
Later general-purpose robot models that partners have tested in live deployments.
π0.7
A model announced in April 2026 that the company says can follow new language commands and do tasks not in its training data.
