Is Uptake a public company?
Not on its own. Uptake is privately held, and in March 2026 Bosch announced a planned acquisition of the company, with financial terms not disclosed. Both companies still described the deal as planned.
What Uptake does
Uptake sells predictive maintenance software for vehicle fleets. Its own site describes AI-powered tools that turn operational data into insights meant to prevent failures before they occur. The industries listed on its site include buses, concrete, construction, federal, heavy trucks, medium trucks and mining.
For a maintenance team, Uptake says the Fleet product gives a view of fault codes, signals, Uptake insights, cases and repair orders over the past 30, 60 and 90 days, plus an overview that helps identify high-risk trucks. Uptake says fleets use it to forecast parts needs and deploy technicians more precisely.
Uptake was founded in 2014 and is based in Chicago. In 2017 it announced a $117 million Series D led by Baillie Gifford, when it described itself as a predictive analytics company across eight industries with roughly 800 employees. On March 19, 2026, Bosch announced it plans to acquire the company; upon closing, Bosch intends to integrate Uptake's employees into Bosch.
