What Cognite does

Cognite sells software for industrial companies. It describes itself as an AI company that delivers industrial software to improve production efficiency of energy, process manufacturing and other industrial companies.

Its core product, Cognite Data Fusion, pulls data from separate plant systems into one place. Cognite says this gives a single source of truth for industrial data, and links time series, P&IDs and 3D models so operations staff can search them together.

On top of that data, Cognite offers Atlas AI, a low-code tool for building AI agents, and Flows, a layer for frontline workflows. Cognite cites a root cause analysis example where it reports an efficiency gain of more than 70%.

On Jun 30, 2026 Schneider Electric announced a definitive agreement to buy 100% of Cognite in an all-cash deal valued at $3.1 billion. Schneider says it plans to bring Cognite into its AVEVA industrial software business once the deal completes. Completion is subject to regulatory approvals.
